Craigflower Creek Restoration Project

VOLWS is undertaking a stream restoration project on an area of Craigflower Creek located near Marler Dr. The Stream Team has planned and initiated clean-up activities which addressed the following identified problems: 1). An obstruction of the creek's flow caused by small woody debris held by two log jams, and; 2). Sections of eroding bank.

To date, we have removed 1610 kg of debris from the creek allowing for increased water flow. We have also secured large woody debris in and alongside the creek for reestablishment of in-stream habitat and for bank stabilization In the future, we plan to plant eroded bank areas with native vegetation to stabilize.
