The assessment and restoration of local
streams and riparian zones is one of the ways the Veins of Life
Watershed Society works to ensure productive habitat for future
generations of aquatic and riparian plants and wildlife on Southern
Vancouver Island. Through the Environmental Youth Program,
created by the BC Ministry of Environment, youths aged 16 - 24
work in Streamteams to assess the condition of local streams,
then plan and administer a wide range of restoration projects
where needed. |
