On Saturday, October 14, 2000, members of the community celebrated the completion of one phase of the Cecelia Creek Daylighting Project.  Various interest groups attended the gathering that included a ceremonial planting of native species along the bankside. The celebration was attended by The Gorge Burnside Community Association, as well as CRD Water, The City of Victoria Parks Department, The Victoria Esquimalt Harbours Actions Environmental Program (VEHEAP), and of course The Veins of Life Watershed Society's Streamteam.

A section of Cecelia Creek has been daylighted to improve habitat for aquatic life. Participants gather to celebrate the completion of the engineering phase.

Streamteam member Crystal plants native species along the bank of Cecelia Creek to mark the completion of one phase and the beginning of another.

Laura Taylor and Dean Fortin congratulate all those involved in the progress made at Cecelia Creek.
